Our caregivers must meet the highest standards to work for  Nurse Mentors Registry.
 
Mandatory Requirements: (We exceed State requirements)
 
  • Current State of Florida License (RN and LPN only)
  • Current State of Florida Certification (CNA only)
  • Current State of Florida Certification (HHA only)
  • Proof of background screening including fingerprint check through the FBI & FDLE.
  • Bonded and Insured
  • CPR Certified – Adult and Pediatrics
  • State required health clearance from communicable diseases
  • Individual malpractice insurance (exceeds state minimum requirements)
  • State required Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
  • Minimum of 3 references (we checkall references)
  • Minimum of 1-2 years experience in medical/ surgical hospital nursing (nurses only)
  • Experience in home health care
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Proof of Automobile Insurance
  • Social Security Card
  • Passport, if available
  • Strict white uniform policy (unless patient requests otherwise) 
  • Must conform to all standards and policies of  Nurse Mentors Registry
  • Independent Contractors

RN (Registered Nurse) / LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)

A graduate of an approved educational program. Maintains a current Florida State license as a Registered Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse.
 
Nurses are available for any skill level needed:
  • Critical care/Ventilator dependent/Life support
  • Wound Care/ Dressing changes
  • Diabetes
  • Alzheimer’s / Dementia/ Parkinson’s
  • Post operation (including out-patient surgeries)
  • Custodial Care
  • Case Management
  • Orthopedics
  • End of Life/ Hospice
  • Oncology
  • Geriatrics (Senior care)
  • Medication set up and reminders
  • IV Therapy/ Insertion & Care/ Lab draws
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
 
The nurses at Nurse Mentors Registry work closely with you and your physician to individualize a plan of care specially to fit your needs. A nursing supervisor is on call 24/7 for our patients and is available to communicate with them or their caregiver whenever needed. All shifts are available with a 4 hour minimum.
 
Nurses are prepared to provide education and training to all patients, family members and caregivers regarding their illness, disease process, diet, medications and self care that assists the patient in reaching an optimal level of independent functioning and health maintenance.

CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) / HHA (Home Health Aide)

Maintains state certification and or a graduate of a state approved training program.
 
Caregivers must follow the high standards established and required by A Nurses’ Registry. Our highly qualified and trained caregivers help you and your loved ones with activities such as: assistance with bathing, personal hygeine, meal planning and preparation, transportation needs, errands, light housekeeping, and medication assistance.
 
Nurse Aides are allowed to assist with the these activities:
  • change of colostomy bag
  • reinforcement of dressing
  • assist with range of motion exercises
  • assist with walker, wheelchair, etc.
  • assist with ice cap or collar
  • simple urine test (sugar & acetone)
  • prepare special diet
  • measure intake and output
Nurse Aides are not allowed to assist with these activities:
 
  • change sterile dressings
  • irrigate body cavities – such as giving an enema, irrigating a colostomy or wound
  • perform a gastric lavage or gavage
  • catheterize a patient
  • apply heat by any method
  • care for a tracheostomy tube

Companion & Domestic

Provides basic non-medical services, such as: light housekeeping, errands and general companionship. No hands on care / assistance required.
